Antique 1800's lithographic print of illustration from French fashion magazine, hand colored, fashionable women taking tea with parrot, 1872

This is a beautifully detailed and subtly colored lithographic print.
This original antique print of French fashions of the late 1800s is from Journal Des Demoiselles (The Ladies' Magazine), a forerunner of today's fashion magazines such as Vogue.
The print was made in Paris in 1872 by printing from an engraved steel plate and it has original hand painted coloring.
The print depicts two beautiful and beautifully dressed young women taking tea in a garden with an interested parrot in a tree nearby.
The background color of the print is dark cream.
The print has information in French printed on the bottom, including the title of the magazine.
The print has been glued to a backing board for the purpose of framing many years ago. The size lends itself to fitting into a standard 11 x 14 inches / 28 x 36 cm frame with a mat board. I will include an off white mat board of this size so all you have to do is find the perfect frame.
The last photo shows the print with the mat board layered loosely on top of it.

The print on its backing board measures 10 inches / 25.5 cm by 13.5 inches / 35 cm.
The supplied mat board measures 11 x 14 inches / 28 x 36 cm.

The print has some age related foxing around the edge - not on the illustration itself. This foxing is completely covered by the mat board.

You will receive the original 1872 antique lithographic print, not a copy.

All of the goods I sell are vintage and most will have had prior owners. For this reason, they are likely to show some signs of age or wear. This is normal and I will only mention specific issues that I think you should know before deciding to purchase.
